Formula Student
One interdisciplinary team.
One passion.
One goal.
As a student team at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, we have been crafting a new formula style racing car every one or two years since 2006. These cars compete in international Formula Student competitions – the world’s largest design competition for students. With 20-30 members, we develop, manufacture and drive a racing car prototype that incorporates cutting-edge technology, engineering skills and innovation to compete against other Formula Student teams. We are convinced that real engineers are shaped by turning theory into action.
The SPR23evo
4 x 35 kW electrical power.
4 x 220 Nm Torque per wheel.
235 kg Total weight.
130 km/h Maximum speed.
We have been going electric since 2020. Our last racing car, the SPR23evo nicknamed Sandy, runs on wheel hub motors from AMKmotion. After developing seven combustion-powered vehicles and fourteen years after building Scuderia Mensa’s first electric car, we have now switched to all-electric. Harnessing 18 years of experience in Formula Student and the construction of 7 electric formula cars, we rely on a full-carbon monocoque and build on a proven track record.

Racing since 2006

18 years of history.
14 racing cars built.
Scuderia Mensa was founded in 2006 by a small team of students from various degree programs. Since then, the team has grown every year to include new members with fresh ideas and works with more supporting partners. With our interdisciplinary team, we have already built 14 combustion and electric cars and taken part in more than 15 Formula Student competitions worldwide. We achieved several top 5 placings in various Formula Student disciplines. These included first place in the Efficiency and Business Plan disciplines and third place in the supreme discipline of Formula Student, the Endurance.
Formula Student

Theory and practice combined.
Formula Student is the world’s largest design competition for students, in which racing teams from universities and colleges compete against each other with racing cars they have designed and built themselves. Formula Student is the world’s largest design competition for students, in which racing teams from universities and colleges compete against each other with racing cars they have designed and built themselves. Like the teams, the events are self-financed with the support of industry sponsors. The most important event for us is the Formula Student Germany at the Hockenheimring. Up to 80 racing teams from all over the world meet here to present their concepts and vehicles. However, it is not just vehicle and driver performance on the race track that scores points: each team is assessed in various disciplines from acceleration and efficiency to marketing based on a business plan and cost analysis.

Events 2025
In the 2025 season, our SPR25e will take part in Formula Student events across Europe. Where the best racing cars from international student teams compete against each other, we are at the forefront with motivation and passion.
