The event with the longest journey for us was Formula Student Spain. Spread over two days, the team traveled to the world-famous Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya. Once there, the technical inspections went very well. Unlike FSN, we were ‘ready to race’ even before the dynamic disciplines began. In the parallel running static disciplines, we achieved 20th place with the business plan and 13th place in the cost event. But the highlight was the design event, where we came fourth. This is the best placing in Scuderia history! The dynamic disciplines were all the more successful. After a brief setback before the skidpad, where we were unfortunately unable to take part due to a leaking gearbox, the team focussed and solved the problem on the same day so that they could take part in the Night Acceleration. With a time of 4.117 seconds, we took fourth place and broke another record in Scuderia history. Not all runs could be scored in the autocross due to the post-inspection, which is why we came ninth here. However, thanks to our fastest lap time in the autocross, we were able to secure a starting place among the final five for the endurance race. Of these five vehicles, we were among the two that successfully mastered the supreme discipline of Formula Student. For the Scuderia Mensa, this was the first time since 2016 that a vehicle had made it to the finish line of the Endurance. The third place that was achieved in this discipline further increased the team’s motivation. These results show that the hard work over the two years of development and production of the SPR23evo has paid off. However, this would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors and alumni! We would therefore like to thank everyone who has supported us along the way!
